Nantes, together with scientists from the Medical University of Bialystok and the Bialystok University of Technology, submitted two patent applications. A new use of artificial saliva based on nanogold and a natural saliva substitute was patented.
Dry mouth makes the mouth more susceptible to microbial imbalance. This applies, inter alia, to patients after surgery. Many saliva substitutes are physically and chemically similar to human saliva in treatment today. Their task is to moisturize the oral mucosa and coat it, and to supplement the shortage of specific ingredients contained in natural saliva.
The idea of scientists from Białystok and the Nantes company may turn out to be revolutionary. The use of Nantes Nano-water with gold nanoparticles as artificial saliva perfectly replaces natural saliva, allowing the maintenance of specific bacterial flora in the oral cavity.
- So far, we have only patented our solution, we will be happy to share it with someone who would undertake the production - says the president of Nantes, Zdzisław Oszczęda.
The Nantes Nano-water used in artificial saliva is water with an ordered structure thanks to its exposure to cold plasma in a vacuum chamber. It is said that Nantes processes gold particles in a similar way. The advantages of these solutions have so far been used mainly in cosmetology - innovative cosmetics based on Nano-water have been developed for several years, and recently Nano-water itself has been sold as a product for research purposes.
A number of studies have confirmed not only the death of neoplastic cells under the influence of Nano-water, or the lack of its harmful effects on health, but also, among others, faster plant growth. One of the company's patents concerns the induction of apoptosis in cancer cells, i.e. a method of causing their death by means of saline processed in the same way as Nano-water.
